Special Touch Talent Dance - Where every dancer is unique and deserves special attention!
Special Touch Talent Dance Studio is a dance studio for everyone.
We are finding that our policies and procedures have been duplicated on other websites, but know that once you visit us you will find our studio to be welcoming, comfortable and a place where your child will not only take dance but you will build relationships with wonderful families.   This studio has been built on the premise that it is important that everyone that walks through the door be treated with respect, warmth and appreciation.   All students regardless of age or level are taught only in a positive manner and encouraged to put forth their best effort in class and be kind to everyone.

Class Attendance and Make-Ups

In order for your child to get the most of their dance experience, it is important that they attend lessons each week. Not only will it ensure that your child keeps up with the class material, it will also help build their self-confidence. In the event that your child must miss a class, they may attend one comparable class of the same discipline per month to keep up. Miss Melody will advise you on the day and time of the make-up.  Make-ups will only be offered through December due to recital work starting in January

Class Attire

Proper dance attire is very important for each and every class for safety and optimum mobility. The following dance attire guidelines will be in effect:

Girls: Leotard and tights (any style and color) or other regular dance clothing.
Please no baggy sweat pants, sweatshirts, T-shirts, or jean shorts (these items hide your body lines). Students may wear soffe style shorts or a dance skirt with their leotards. Long hair should be tied back and out of face. This is for the dancer's safety.

Boys: Sweat pants or shorts and a close fitting shirt tucked in.  Under Armour is a great choice for boys.

Shoes
It is very important that each dance student have the proper shoes for the type of dance class they are taking. Please follow these guidelines when choosing dance shoes:

BALLET: Pink is preferred. Should have a piece of 1/4 inch elastic sewn across the instep. Must be worn for ballet and may be worn for jazz as well. All shoes must be true ballet shoes, please no slippers.
Ballet shoes are available at the studio for purchase at a discount rate.

JAZZ: Tie style or slip on style jazz shoes are optional.  Jazz shoes are available at the studio for purchase at a discount rate.

TAP: For pre and beginner tap, we recommend Mary Jane buckle taps.  For Intermediate and Teen tap, we recommend an oxford lace up tap.

HIP-HOP: Tennis shoes or dance sneakers

MUSICAL THEATRE: Jazz or Ballet shoes may be worn.

Class Observation

All visitors are welcome to observe class via closed circuit television or the one way observation glass windows in the waiting room.  We ask that all parents and visitors do not enter the dance rooms unless invited by the teachers.

Non-dancing siblings must have a parent or other responsible party in the waiting room with them at all times. Please be courteous, pick up after your children, and keep noise level to a minimum.  There are child activity tables, toys and coloring sheets available to help keep your children occupied!

We ask that all food and drink only be consumed in the break room located at the back of the studio and that children are not left unattended in this space.
